The 2014 Teen Choice Awards was held on August 10, 2014 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The event was originally scheduled for the UCLA Pauley Pavilion, which was flooded by a broken water pipe on July 29, 2014 near the campus. It was broadcast on Fox at 8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed. The awards celebrate the year's achievements in music, film, television, sports, fashion, comedy, video games and the Internet, and are voted on by mostly female teenage viewers aged 13 through 19. Selena Gomez has been awarded the Ultimate Choice Award during the show in recognition of her extraordinary contributions to the entertainment industry. One Direction were the biggest winners of the night, winning all ten awards they were nominated for (including an award given out to Harry Styles and one dedicated to their fans). This brought their Teen Choice Awards total to nineteen and continued their perfect record. The Fault in Our Stars won all seven of its nominations as well, including four awards for Ansel Elgort.

The 68th Annual Tony Awards were held June 8, 2014, to recognize achievement in Broadway productions during the 2013–14 season. The ceremony was held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, and was televised live on CBS. Hugh Jackman was the host, his fourth time hosting. The 15 musical Tony Awards went to seven different musicals, and six plays shared the 11 play Tony Awards. The nominations were announced on April 29, 2014 by Jonathan Groff and Lucy Liu. Audra McDonald won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play. In just her ninth Broadway engagement, McDonald established two records as the first actor to win six Tony Awards for acting and the first to win in all four categories, lead and featured in both a play and a musical. In its seventh Broadway incarnation, The Glass Menagerie won its first Tony Award (Lighting Design).

31st AVN Awards was an event during which Adult Video News (AVN) presented its annual AVN Awards to honor the best pornographic movies and adult entertainment products of 2013 in the United States. The ceremony was held January 18, 2014, at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Paradise, Nevada. Movies or products released between Oct. 1, 2012 and Oct. 7, 2013 were eligible. Comedienne/actress Rebekah Kochan and adult movie actresses Chanel Preston, who was co-winner of "Most Outrageous Sex Scene", and Samantha Saint hosted the AVN Awards. The awards show was held immediately after the Adult Entertainment Expo at the same venue. Underworld took top honors as Movie of the Year, also winning best drama and seven other awards, including a directing award for Brad Armstrong. Remy LaCroix won Best Actress for her role in The Temptation of Eve, a romance, while Tommy Pistol was named Best Actor for his performance as Ashley J. Wiliams in adult horror film Evil Head. The coveted AVN Female Performer of the Year Award and AVN Best New Starlet Award went to Bonnie Rotten and Mia Malkova respectively. Axel Braun won Director of the Year for a record fourth consecutive time and Manuel Ferrara was awarded a record fifth Male Performer of the Year award. The new category of BBW Performer of the Year was won by April Flores. The Clever Title of the Year award was won by Seymore Butts for Cirque du Hole-A.

The 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards (TV 2014)

The Academy of Country Music Awards were first held in 1966, honoring the industry's accomplishments during the previous year. It was the first country music awards program held by a major organization. The Academy's signature "hat" trophy was created in 1968. The awards were first televised in 1972 on ABC. In 1979, the Academy joined with Dick Clark Productions to produce the show. Dick Clark and Al Schwartz served as producers while Gene Weed served as director. Under their guidance, the show moved to NBC and finally to CBS, where it remains today.
In 2003, the awards show left Los Angeles and moved to Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. The show is now held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The Academy also adopted a sleeker, modern version of the "hat" trophy that year, which is now made by New York firm Society Awards. In 2004 the organization implemented online awards voting for its professional members, becoming the first televised awards show to do so. The 48th Academy of Country Music Awards was broadcast live on April 7, 2013 and co-hosted by Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton. Both are also nominated for Entertainer of the Year.

Nickelodeon's 27th Annual Kids' Choice Awards was held on March 29, 2014, at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California. Actor Mark Wahlberg was host the ceremony. The "Orange Carpet" was set up in front of Galen Center on the sidewalks of Jefferson Boulevard. The show broadcasted on the Nickelodeon Network from 8 p.m. to 9:36 p.m. ET/PT, tape delayed for West Coast in the United States and Canada. Kids in six continents were able to vote for their favorite winners, who got to take home an orange blimp trophy, at 17 localized voting sites. The 86th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), honored the actors, technical achievements, and films of 2013 and took place on March 2, 2014, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The ceremony was scheduled one week later than usual to avoid conflict with the broadcast of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. During the ceremony, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presented awards in 24 categories. Televised in the United States by ABC, the ceremony was produced by Neil Meron and Craig Zadan, and directed by Hamish Hamilton. Comedian Ellen DeGeneres hosted the show for the second time, after hosting the 79th ceremony in 2007. Gravity won seven awards, the most for the ceremony, including Best Director for Alfonso Cuarón. 12 Years a Slave won three awards, including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actress for Lupita Nyong'o. Dallas Buyers Club also won three awards, including Best Actor for Matthew McConaughey and Best Supporting Actor for Jared Leto, respectively. Other winners included Frozen and The Great Gatsby, with two awards each. Cate Blanchett won the Best Actress award for Blue Jasmine, the only award for the film. Other films to win a single award were The Great Beauty, Helium, Her, The Lady in Number 6: Music Saved My Life, Mr Hublot, and 20 Feet from Stardom.

Presented by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), accolades are handed out for the best in feature-length film and documentaries of any nationality, that were screened at British cinemas during 2013. The nominations were announced on December 6, 2013 during a live televised concert on CBS, The Grammy Nominations Concert Live – Countdown to Music's Biggest Night. Jay-Z received the most nominations with nine. Justin Timberlake, Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Pharrell Williams all got seven nominations. Daft Punk and Pharrell Williams were nominated twice for both Album of the Year and Record of the Year. Sound engineer Bob Ludwig received the most nominations by a non-performing artist, with five. At the awards ceremony on 26 January, Daft Punk won five awards including album of the year, while Macklemore and Ryan Lewis won four trophies and led an industry show of support for gay marriage. Carole King was honored as MusiCares Person of the Year on January 24, two days prior to the awards ceremony. On June 4, 2013, the Recording Academy approved a number of changes recommended by its Awards & Nominations Committee: A new category for Best American Song has been added to the American Music field. It is a songwriter's award, which will encompass all the subgenres in this field such as Americana, bluegrass, blues, folk and regional roots music. The Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance category will be renamed Best Metal Performance and becomes a stand-alone category. Hard rock performances will now be screened in the Best Rock Performance category. The Music Video field will become the Best Music Video/Film field. Its two categories will be renamed: Best Short Form Music Video will now be known as Best Music Video and Best Long Form Music Video will change into Best Music Film. These changes bring the total number of categories at the 2014 Grammy Awards to 82, up from 81 at the 2013 Grammy Awards.
