The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards ceremony was held in and around the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles on March 14, 2021. It recognized the best recordings, compositions, and artists of the eligibility year, running from September 1, 2019, to August 31, 2020. The nominations were revealed via a virtual livestream on November 24, 2020. The performers for the ceremony were announced on March 7, 2021. South African comedian Trevor Noah hosted the ceremony. Beyoncé received the most nominations with nine, followed by Dua Lipa, Roddy Ricch, and Taylor Swift with six each. Beyoncé also received the most awards with four. In doing so, she surpassed Alison Krauss to become the most-awarded woman in the show's history and tied Quincy Jones as the artists with the second-most wins. The ceremony was originally scheduled for January 31, 2021; however, on January 5, 2021, the Recording Academy postponed the ceremony to March 14, 2021, due to a spike in COVID-19 cases in Los Angeles as well as health and safety concerns therein.

The band, comprised of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, shot to fame off the back of their appearance in the seventh series of 'The X Factor'. Following the show they signed to Simon Cowell's label Syco Records for the release of their debut album 'Up All Night' (2011), which soared to the top of the charts in both Britain and the USA. The documentary captures both the onstage and offstage lives of the boys, featuring a blend of behind the scenes and performance footage, as well as charting the origins of each member and the journey that led them to become part of the group.

The 2013 MTV EMAs (also known as the MTV Europe Music Awards) was held at the Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam, Netherlands, on 10 November 2013. This was the first time since 1997 when the awards where held in the Netherlands. The nominees were announced live on MTV Netherlands at 12:55 (CET) on September 17, 2013. The nominees press launch aired at various times throughout the day on localized MTV channels across Europe. Fans can vote for nominated artists from their respective territory starting Tuesday 17 September. The local winners will receive an EMA award and also move on to the next phase of voting starting Friday 25 October and compete for the regional title. The 10 official Worldwide Act nominees from each region will then be announced on Monday 1 November, and battle for the Worldwide Act Award.
