The 38th American Music Awards were held November 21, 2010 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The awards recognized the most popular artists and albums from 2010. Nominees were announced on October 12, 2010. Justin Bieber was nominated for, and won, four awards, including Artist of the Year. Usher and Eminem both won two awards; the former was nominated for three and the latter, five.

The 2011 MTV EMAs (also known as the MTV Europe Music Awards) were held in Northern Ireland's capital Belfast, on Sunday, November 6, 2011, at the Odyssey Arena in the Titanic Quarter area of the city and were hosted by Selena Gomez. Additional live venues for the awards show include Ulster Hall and Belfast City Hall.
On September 19, 2011, MTV Networks International announced the 2011 nominees. The main categories were dominated by Lady Gaga with six nominations, Katy Perry and Bruno Mars with five and Britney Spears, 30 Seconds to Mars and Adele with three apiece. Lady Gaga was the biggest winner of the night, taking home 4 awards. Other winners include Justin Bieber, Eminem, Bruno Mars, Linkin Park, 30 Seconds to Mars, and Katy Perry.

The 45th Annual CMA AWARDS show is now in the history books. "Country's Biggest Night," as it is called, was broadcast on ABC-TV "live" from NASHVILLE 's BRIDGESTONE ARENA last night (11/9).
The night's biggest winners included THE BAND PERRY, who picked up the "Best New Artist" award, plus "Single Of The Year," and "Song Of The Year," for the KIMBERLY PERRY penned "If I Die Young."
"I believe this song would've been written with or without me. It was a song meant to be here," said KIMBERLY PERRY. "I'm just excited to have had a pen and paper in hand when this song came to earth."
The coveted "Entertainer Of The Year," award went to TAYLOR SWIFT, the 2nd time the 21-year old won the big award. "Male Vocalist Of The Year," was picked up by BLAKE SHELTON and "Female Vocalist Of The Year," went to his wife, MIRANDA LAMBERT.

Miss Universe 2011, the 60th anniversary of the Miss Universe pageant, was held at the Credicard Hall in São Paulo, Brazil on September 12, 2011. Ximena Navarrete of Mexico crowned her successor, Leila Lopes of Angola, at the end of this event. Contestants from 89 countries and territories participated in this year's pageant, surpassing the previous record of 86 contestants in 2006.

The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards took place on August 28, at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, honoring the best music videos from the previous year. On July 20, the nominees were announced. Katy Perry received the most nominations this year at ten, followed by Adele, and Kanye West, who are both tied at seven.
On August 28, 2011, Katy Perry won three awards, including Video of the Year for "Firework". Adele also won three awards out of seven nominations, including Best Cinematography and Best Editing for "Rolling in the Deep". Lady Gaga won two awards, including Best Female Video. Britney Spears won two awards, including was honored with the MTV Video Vanguard Award for her contribution to the recent history of MTV, with a tribute that included a group of children dancing to her biggest hits while wearing some of her most iconic costumes from music videos as well as live VMA performances.
