The 42nd American Music Awards was held on November 23, 2014, at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California. The awards recognized the most popular artists and albums of 2014. The nominations were announced on October 13, 2014, by Jason Derulo and Charli XCX. Iggy Azalea leads the nominees with six nominations. It will be broadcast live on ABC. Pitbull was announced as a host on October 20, 2014. Lance Bass, Chelsea Briggs, Kandi Burruss, Gavin DeGraw, Frankie Grande, Taryn Manning, Jordin Sparks, Morgan Stewart and Ted Stryker were all announced co-hosts of the pre-show on November 7, 2014.

Kanako, a beautiful girl and one of the best students at school, goes missing with all the belongings left behind in her room. Her father Akikazu is now asked by his ex-wife to look for their daughter. He starts a desperate search of Kanako using any means, in the hope of getting his "ideal" family back in place despite the fact that the very reason of the family breakup was because of his problematic personality and behaviors. Following tracks of her past and present and talking to her "friends," he starts to get to know his daughter whom he never knew or didn't even attempt to know. When Akikazu is led to one clue, he realizes the world Kanako was facing beyond his imagination… Can the father find his daughter, and get back his perfect happy family he has dreamed of after all these years?

Our Family / Bokutachi no kazoku (2014)
Drama
A family that is scattered get together because of their mother's sudden illness. They begin to about their family. Since Reiko (Mieko Harada) turned 60-years-old, she seems to get more and more forgetful, but her husband Katsuaki (Kyozo Nagatsuka), first son Kousuke (Satoshi Tsumabuki) and second son Shunpei (Sosuke Ikematsu) do not care or notice. One day, Reiko goes to see a doctor and is diagnose with brain tumor. She only has a week to live. After Reiko tells the her family that "a family that gets scattered makes me scared," she seems to become a totally different person. As if she has Alzheimer's, Reiko says whatever is on her mind.
