Childhood buddies Zhang Shui and Waley lived at the same orphanage when they were young. Waley was adopted to France and grew up into a wine connoisseur while Shui stayed in China and never amounted to much. Years later, Shui suddenly travels to France and asks for Waley's help to bid for a bottle of red wine called "The God of Wine." At Chateau Khan, Waley encounters the beautiful and mysterious auction organizer Yvonne and buyers Lu and Fang, a brutish tycoon who is connected to Zhang. What seems like a simple auction turns out be an elaborate ruse that quickly turns dangerous.
