Widowed potter Kamiya Seiji lives alone in a mountain village. His only son Manabu, who works as an engineer in Algeria, comes to visit with fiancé Nadia. Manabu wants to quit his job and take over the family pottery business after getting married, but Seiji objects. However, tragedy strikes when Manabu and Nadia return to Algeria. Meanwhile, Marcos is a young Brazilian resident who lives in a neighboring town. Seiji once helped Marcos when he was being chased by thugs, and Marcos becomes interested in pottery work afterwards.
