Velu (Joseph Vijay) is a village milkman who raises and dotes on his younger sister Kaveri (Saranya Mohan). When her marriage is fixed, Velu decides to collect his hard-earned savings from the Building Society in Chennai. However, his indirect encounters with the Underworld mafia soon lands him in a dilemma of being mistaken as the Superhero "Velayutham" – a fictional character created by Bharathi (Genelia D'Souza), a journalist committed to eradicating terrorism.
