In search of employment and a permanent position and having committed murder the ronin Kake Junoshin tells the Kurokaze Han clan that a religious cult is aiming for their destruction. This gets him in, but he is soon disproved and arrested. Given the death sentence and awaiting death he has to be quick on his feet and figure out a way to get himself out of the hole. Then the resurrection occurs.

Bitter Honey / Mitsu no aware (2016)

Based on novelist Muro Saisei's 1959 book, Bitter Honey narrates the story of a poet who informed by his physician of his impending death finds renewed flights of fantasy. He is visited by a thin and attractive girl in red who becomes a catalyst for romance. The girl has to vie with competition for the artist's attention, however, as other women work in the wings. Bitter Honey's story is coloured by gorgeous photography as it explores sex, love, life and immortality.

Samao Daikoku's (Shota Sometani) family register was taken which keeps him from escaping the underground life that he has led. To get away once and for all, Samao Daikoku breaks into Daikichi Ebisu's (Kiyohiko Shibukawa) coin locker to steal gold. Daikichi Ebisu is involved in a criminal organization. In the locker, Samao Daikoku finds a hard disk containing personal information on runaways, homeless people, bankrupt people and prostitutes. He hides the hard disk, but is locked up by Daikichi Ebisu. There, he sees a prostitute, Ami Nanmu (Erina Mizuno) and he also faces an evil gang boss, Kan Senju (Gou Ayano). Samao Daikoku is tortured by the gang boss. The mystery behind Samao Daikoku's past is revealed.
