Based on a true story, the film follows Tian Wen-Jun and his ex-wife Lu Xiao-Juan as they search frantically for their missing three year-old son Pengpeng. Years later, after numerous dashed hopes, they find Pengpeng living with Li Hong-Xin. But their reunion with the vastly changed Pengpeng proves difficult, and Hong-Xin convincingly claims that she is unaware that the child – who now calls her mother – was originally stolen.
