Alec, a courageous but impetuous knight, returns to his home village having been summoned by his older brother to see their dying father. Their reunion is short-lived as a terrified traveler wanders into the village saying that a monstrous winged creature attacked him. The onlookers scoff in disbelief but at once The Jabberwock descends upon them with the body of a dragon, the head of a gruesome insect and deadly claws. Alec and his brother draws their swords and charges the beast, but to little effect. At dawn the next day, the men of the village arm themselves and go off in search of the terrible scourge. While his brother crafts a new type of weapon, the prophecied Vorpal Sword, Alec steals one of the Jabberwock’s eggs, evidence that this monster won’t be the only one of its kind for long. Now the brothers must stand together, wield the Vorpal sword and fight to save their home and loved ones.

Born Bad (2011)

The boyfriend from hell here is played by Michael Welch of the Twilight movies, a fact the promotion for this film makes a big deal out of. Even as someone who has seen all of the Twilight movies, I had to visit IMDB to figure out just who the heck Welch played in those films. Turns out he’s one of Bella’s non-vampire/underwearwolf high school buds, the guy in the varsity jacket usually standing next to Nikki Reed in the two or three scenes they appear in per film, usually only getting about that many lines of dialogue as well. Now it’s Welch’s chance to sparkle, and I must say he makes the most of it, though he does come across as more of a hateful punk you just want to see get his ass stomped real good than a terrifying psychopath. He’s like the ultimate frat boy douchebag taken to its logical extreme.
