Mikito Tsurugi fails to enter a university. He doesn't have a girlfriend or money. There's nothing to make him happy. He watches an Aya Matsuura music video and becomes fascinated by the idols from Hello. Project. He then forms the band "Renai Kenkyukai" with people he met at an idol event. They spend their days working on their music as a band. As time goes by, the band members begin to have more important things to do than following idols and playing in their band. The band members drift apart. Mikito learns that band member Kozumin has cancer. Because of this, he meets the other band members from "Renai Kenkyukai" for the first time in a long time.

A seventy-year-old widowed man named Daikichi lives on a small island with his beloved pet cat. He is a local, a native, enjoys his home and spending time with that cat and old friends. His own son has done what many local youngsters have. The son has moved to Tokyo. However, change is eternal and friends are dying of old age, the environment is changing and old age creeps up and makes folk infirm. The old man has to contend with this change.

Jiro has come home. His tiny farming village is now deserted because it lies in the badly contaminated Fukushima zone. Nonetheless, Jiro begins cultivating his land. An old school friend helps him and together they plant rice. "It's like slow suicide", says Jiro's friend. Jiro's half-brother, Soichi, who has evacuated with his family cannot believe that Jiro has moved back into the old home. Soichi's step-mother, who is Jiro's biological mother, had never got over Jiro leaving. Suffused with grief and poetry, the images in this film describes life after the nuclear catastrophe. They also tell us what it means to go home when home will never be the same again.
