Young screenwriter Kato is in a creative slump and spends his days worrying about his go-nowhere project. His lover's dog keeps getting in the way of his writing, so he abandons it in the mountains in a fit of anger. Then he goes back to search for the dog. On the way, Kato's rental car breaks down, and he ends up at a convenience store run by the mysterious Keiko. There he enters another world different from his own.

Hitoshi is an electronic store clerk who hates his job and his boss. When an annoying customer at a fast food restaurant leaves his phone behind, Hitoshi takes the cell phone and calls the man's mother, posing as her son to borrow a large sum of money. The scam works, but Hitoshi discovers that the phone's owner has transformed into someone who looks exactly like him. More "Hitoshis" begin to appear from out of nowhere, and the slacker Hitoshi decides to build an "Ore" Empire – an empire filled with Hitoshis.
