An owner of a soba noodle shop is found dead at the D. Hill. The police concluded the death was an apparent suicide. However, a brilliant but eccentric private detective Kogoro Akechi and his wife Fumiyo sees that it is a murder case, not a suicide, and start their own investigation. They notice something weird is going on in the secondhand bookshop and gradually, hideous love-hate relationships and immeasurable passion and lust surrounding the wife of the bookshop is revealed.
