The Adopted is a story of a family of women whose live haven't been the easiest but with time been the biggest cure to their difficulties. Lisa (Laurent) is a vivacious alluring woman, her adoptive sister Marine (Marie Denarnaud) both been in separable since they where 10 years old. The pair have forged a deep bond with Lisa's mother Millie (Clementine Celarie) whom the trio give Lisa's young son Leo the security and affection a growing child needs. When Marine falls in love with Alex (Denis Menochet)Lisa starts to feel isolated, jealous which starts to take on the family,but eventually things start to look balanced once again as love starts to blossom only for fate to throw tragedy at them forcing the family to regroup again to turn loss into hope.

Thirty years ago, Andrei Simoniovich Filipov, the renowned conductor of the Bolshoi orchestra, was fired for hiring Jewish musicians. Now a mere cleaning man at the Bolshoi, he learns by accident that the Châtelet Theater in Paris invites the Bolshoi orchestra to play there. He decides to gather together his former musicians and to perform in Paris in the place of the current Bolshoi orchestra. As a solo violin player to accompany his old Jewish or Gypsy musicians he wants Anne-Marie Jacquet, a young virtuoso. If they all overcome the hardships ahead this very special concert will be a triumph.

Lucrèce is a contract killer in search of a new life. Specialized in the use of poisons and enamored with opera, she accepts a difficult, final hit in a castle in the heart of the Swiss Alps. Posing as a soprano, Lucrèce must perform on stage during the very prestigious Festival of Ermeux and slaughter one of her co-performers, British baritone Alexander Child, who recently bought a distillery in Scotland, and thus became the only obstacle to a strategic pipeline project with considerable financial ramifications. He just won a long legal battle against British Oil, who now has no other choice but to eliminate him. To complicate things, French counter-espionage learns of the hit and sends Rico, a reinstated former agent, to infiltrate the orchestra, unmask and terminate all who wish harm to Alexander Child.
