Certainty (2011)
Drama
Adapted from the stage, Peter Askin’s CERTAINTY explores the feelings of a young engaged couple named Deb (Adelaide Clemens) and Dom (Tom Lipinski) as they undertake a Catholic couple’s retreat. Designed to force partners to ask the tough questions about married life, the retreat soon requires Deb and Dom to confront their feelings about faith, family and the future. Filled with terrific performances and held together by Askin’s careful touch as a director, CERTAINTY is an ensemble film that takes the notion of family and places it under the microscope, allowing the drama and comedy to build as the story carefully unspools on the screen.
