The Frankenstein Theory (2013)
Horror | Sci-Fi
From the makers of The Last Exorcism comes a boldly original vision of horror. What if the most chilling novel of all time was actually based on a true account of a horrific experiment gone awry? When he is suspended from his university job for his outlandish ideas, Professor John Venkenheim leads a documentary film crew to the rim of the Arctic Circle in a desperate effort to vindicate his academic reputation. His theory: Mary Shelley's ghastly story, "Frankenstein," is, in fact, a work of non-fiction disguised as fantasy. In the vast, frozen wilderness, Venkenheim and his team search for the legendary monster, a creature mired in mystery and drenched in blood. What they find is an unspeakable truth more terrifying than any fiction…a nightmare from which there is no waking.

Bullet Collector / Sobiratel pul (2012)
Drama
A stunning, intense tale of a youth lost in an uncaring world, Bullet Collector is the first film from promising director Aleksandr Vartanov. A visual, moody masterpiece, this drama follows the traumas of a wide-eyed 14-year-old boy. He has a terrible home life with a step-father who can barely stand the sight of him. His school life is even worse as bullies torment and attack him with shocking regularity. And his life becomes even more torturous after he is sent to hellish reform school. Prone to day-dreaming about a life where he is loved, fights off his attackers and has a beautiful girlfriend, the reality of an entirely different and terrible life continually shocks him back to reality. Is he just a timid kid destined for abuse or will he gain the strength to fight off his attackers? Recalling the world of Antoine Doinel in François Truffaut's The 400 Blows, this unsettling, visually brilliant drama updates that classic by giving it a nightmarishly Russian spin.

Love for Levon / Love for Levon: A Benefit to Save the Barn (2012)
Music
Dozens of luminaries from rock, soul and country gathered at the Meadowlands Arena on October 3, 2012, for an incredible tribute to Levon Helm, The Band s late drummer/singer/mandolin player (who passed away in early 2012). The concert, directed by bassist Don Was, was an opportunity to say a final farewell and, in the process, raise money for the ongoing Midnight Ramble series of concerts still held at The Barn, Helm s famous home-studio in Woodstock, New York. One at a time or, sometimes, in pairs, rock-royalty took turns in the spotlight over the course of the evening, singing songs associated with Levon Helm and The Band including "Up On Crippled Creek," "The Shape I m In," "Life is a Carnival," "Ophelia," "The Weight," "Rag Mamma Rag," "I Ain t Got No Home," and "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down."

The backbone of the story is Angus Buchan – at the 2009 Mighty Men Conference – sharing his simple but rock solid faith with a few hundred thousand men. We experience his on-stage heart attack and the resulting personal insight he received from God regarding his own ministry. In the vast crowd we find three typical men – all in the process of being touched by the Holy Spirit through Angus's words. We find Andre Cloete – a twenty something man who became ensnared in alcohol abuse and a wasted life – due to his broken relationship with his 'strictly religious' and absent father. Then there is John Peters – a middle aged panel beater from Bethlehem who's business, family relationships and health have been spiraling down to the brink of collapse. Lastly we meet Lucky Nzimande – a young, black criminal who naively attempts to hi-jack the vehicle of two ex special-forces policemen en route to the Mighty Men Conference. The film tells the dramatic story of the three men's journeys and…
