Fight Back to School / Tao xue wei long (1991)

Stephen Chow's prodigious skills with guns and martial arts take center stage once again in this successful action film from Hong Kong filmmaker Gordon Chan. Chow stars as Star Chow, a cop who plays by his own rules, often endangering the other members of his team as well as the success of their missions. When a practice drill goes awry, Star is punished by the commissioner (Barry Wong) by being reassigned as an undercover agent at the local high school, his task being to locate the student who stole the commissioner's favorite gun. Naturally, there's a beautiful guidance counselor (Sharla Cheung) to provide some romantic interest, and — just as naturally — things take a downward turn when she discovers Star's true identity. In the meantime, Star locates the commissioner's gun, as well as a cache of stolen arms belonging to a triad gangster. The entire situation comes to a head during the school's open house, with a specially constructed maze serving as the backdrop for the final gun battle. Filled with action and humor, the film's success led to a pair of even more entertaining sequels. Ng Man-tat co-stars with Roy Cheung, Gabriel Wong, and Paul Chun.

A Dying man is leaving behind him a no good son, a very good daughter, a scheming nephew, a vast fortune and a will which bequeaths everything to the daughter. So the scheming nephew gets Tricky Star to steal the will in order to alter it. The son is not idle either. He finds Phoenix, a garbage collector, to pose as the absent daughter who looks the same as Phoenix. Phoenix flies into Hong Kong and gets into the house in great pomp. She also surprises a thieving Trick Star, who immediately assumes the role of a suitor. That pleases Phoenix immensely….

Ti (Stephen Chow) is a poor father who works all day, everyday at a construction site to make sure his son Dicky Chow (Xu Jian) can attend an elite private school. Despite his father's good intentions to give his son the opportunities he never had, Dicky, with his dirty and tattered clothes and none of the "cool" toys stands out from his schoolmates like a sore thumb. Ti can't afford to buy Dicky any expensive toys and goes to the best place he knows to get new stuff for Dicky – the junk yard! While out "shopping" for a new toy for his son, Ti finds a mysterious orb and brings it home for Dicky to play with. To his surprise and disbelief, the orb reveals itself to Dicky as a bizarre "pet" with extraordinary powers. Armed with his "CJ7" Dicky seizes this chance to overcome his poor background and shabby clothes and impress his fellow schoolmates for the first time in his life. But CJ7 has other ideas and when Dicky brings it to class, chaos ensues.

King of Comedy is a 1999 Hong Kong comedy film directed by Lee Lik-Chi and Stephen Chow. Unlike Stephen Chow's typical mo lei tau films, King of Comedy verges on comedy drama, describing the trials and tribulation that an aspiring actor experiences on his way to stardom. Some commentators[who?] say the story is based on Stephen Chow's early career, as he started off as a temporary actor, before becoming a successful and popular comedy actor over the course of a decade. The film does retain some of bizarre visual gags Chow is known for, such as Chow's character bleeding from the nose and eyes during a singing number.
