The Two Faces of January (2014)
Thriller
1962. A glamorous American couple, the charismatic Chester MacFarland and his alluring younger wife Colette, arrive in Athens by boat via the Corinthian Canal. While sightseeing at the Acropolis they encounter Rydal, a young, Greek-speaking American who is working as a tour guide, scamming tourists on the side. Drawn to Colette's beauty and impressed by Chester's wealth and sophistication, Rydal gladly accepts their invitation to dinner. However, all is not as it seems with the MacFarlands and Chester's affable exterior hides darker secrets. When Rydal visits the couple at their exclusive hotel, Chester presses him to help move the body of a seemingly unconscious man who he claims attacked him.

Ray is a 30 something engineer obsessed with Gundam toys. He has a motto not to become close to anyone. During his mother's funeral he showed no emotions. His life is further turned upside when he is forced to live with his older brother Maury and younger sister Lisa. Older brother Maury was a pianist but is now a recluse. Younger sister Lisa is a college student who tends to look down on those around her. Also in there home is their Japanese grandmother who doesn't speak English at all.

Writer-director Andrei Tarkovsky draws on episodes from his own life in this story of a dying man reflecting on his relationships with his parents, wife and son. The film includes a number of reflections on the Russian people and their history, using the life of one man to consider the Russian experience from the Second World War through to the end of the Stalinist period. The film also features Tarkovsky's father reading his own poems and his mother (Larisa Tarkovskaya) playing the role of the on-screen matriarch.
